The Preamp

The all tube preamp is split into 2 foot switchable channels (A and B), each has 2 gain controls. Channel A consists of parallel gain stages allowing you to mix the bright gain (gain control #1) with the dark gain (gain control #2). This versatility can create the perfectly balanced clean or crunch tone. Channel B consists of series gain stages for a screaming high-gain distortion. Both channels utilize the same EQ consisting of Bass, Mid, and Treble controls.

Garnet Session Man
As the name suggests this amp was designed for the player who required versatility in the creation of different tones in a medium sized package that could easily be lugged to a gig. Introduced in 1969, it was based on the same twin 6CA7 power tube setup as the Pro series. This amp added many features used to produce varied tones. Two independent channels, each with its own tone controls were provided, along with a spacious reverb and deep tremolo. A master gain control allowed loud clean tones when cranked, or it could be backed off and the preamps driven into distortion without huge volume levels, essential for the studio.

Marshall AS-50
The Marshall Acoustic AS50D is a 50 Watt combo housing 2x 8" custom-voiced speakers and a piezo tweeter which allows for clear and detailed sound reproduction across the entire frequency range.

This compact and highly portable combo features two channels, each of which has its own independent volume and tone controls. A variety of inputs give the AS50R the ability to handle all-comers: the high impedance input on Channel 1 is perfect for piezo or magnetic pickups, while Channel 2 boasts RCA phono inputs, plus a balanced XLR type input in addition to its jack input, making it the perfect host for voice, instrument, or even backing track applications.

The AS50R also has a built-in, adjustable Chorus which is assignable to either or both channels, plus Reverb and a Parallel effects loop that can be balanced between the two channels. One of the most difficult aspects of amplifying certain acoustic instruments is feedback. Therefore, anti-feedback controls include a Phase switch and a frequency controllable 'Notch'. Another useful AS50R feature is an internal Limiter which allows you to drive the maximum level from the 50 Watt power stage, yet remain distortion free.

Neat and affordable, flexible and portable, the AS50R is the ideal amplifier for the acoustic musician who wants an amp which is perfectly suited for intimate gigs.

SOUNDCRAFT series 200B console GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Soundcraft Series 200B is designed primarily for up to 8-track recording, as well as public address and monitor applications.

The console has 4 main buses, 4 auxiliary outputs and dedicated mix outputs. All inputs are electronically balanced.

Electronic balancing reduces the degradation of signal quality which is introduced by more conventional transformer coupled designs, ensuring superior transient response, minimal phase shift and excellent common mode rejection even at high frequencies.

The outputs, with the exception of the Mix Outputs and the Control Room Outputs are "GROUND COMPENSTATED" to minimize hum or interference in differing environments, where earthing rules, etc may not always have been adhered to.

The Microphone Input impedance is greater than 2kOhms, which will not cause any loading effects on any normally used microphone. The Line level Input has an input impedance of greater than 10kOhms, which is high enough to ensure that it will interface with most studio peripheral equipment without causing loading effects.

The auxiliary sends are selectable between both Pre/post EQ and Pre/post Fade by the use of push-on links (Jumpers) on the PCB.

Metering is via 4 VUs reading Group Outputs 1-4 Meters 3 and 4 are switchable as a pair to read the monitor source. This may be either the stereo mix bus, the 2-track return or any PFL/AFL signal.

The power supply is an external unit supplying the console with 17 volts positive and negative rails and +48V Phantom Power supply.

The console is designed to work at either +4dBu or -10dBV (Tascam) level. Changing between the two requires altering an internal switch on the group outputs and adding push-on jumpers on the input channel PCBs.
